Great Lakes Science Center - Live Capture Across Seasons

SOMERVILLE, MA., 2008 - TechnoFrolics collaborated with the Great Lakes Science Center of Cleveland, OH to add real-time capture of a live camera feed to its existing innovative FrameGlide | Spin Browser (FG|SB) video explorer technology.

The Great Lakes Science Center exhibit features real-time weather capture that enables visitors to fly through time, exploring the progressions of clouds, waves, storms, and sunsets across the great lakes.

Using a dial, the visitors spool back and forth through the previous year at their own pace. The live HD camera feed is continuously recorded at 1 fps for the last 24 hours, and 1/10 fps for the last year, while simultaneously retaining the fluid motion characteristic of the FG|SB video explorer.
